Rehoming - The Process
The Relinquishing Process
We ask that all owners, where possible, have a full health check carried out on their Pomeranian before they enter the rehoming process and we ask for a letter from your vet confirming this has taken place. We are then able to contact your vet to discuss any health concerns if necessary.
Proof will be required to show that the Pomeranian has been vaccinated and that flea and worming treatments are up to date. We also ask that all documentation regarding your Pomeranian is also passed on to us for future reference and use.
A legally binding Relinquishing Form will be completed, signing the care of the Pomeranian over to Pomeranians For Life and its volunteers. There is a minimum relinquishing donation of £100.00 per Pomeranian. Depending on the condition and any treatment the Pomeranian may require this donation figure may be higher.
We are aware that it is not always possible to donate this sum and this can be discussed during initial contact.
The donation may be used towards (but may not fully cover) the cost of time in foster care - food and transport, neutering/spay, veterinary treatment, vaccinations, flea / worming treatments and microchipping, where this treatment has not taken place before the Pomeranian is relinquished into our care.

The Adoption Process
We ask anyone interested in rehoming to contact us to ensure they are suitable and then watch the website and Facebook to watch for any available Pomeranians. We do not work on a first come first served basis, each Pomeranian is matched with the most suitable home available to ensure a long term home and a fulfilling life. Current waiting times are around a year for re-homing.
Depending on your location, we will endeavor to complete a home check. However if there is not a volunteer available in your area we will require a reference from your veterinarian.

Pomeranians For Life is available to support you throughout the duration of the Pomeranians life. Should the owner for any reason find themselves unable to keep their Pomeranian, we ask that the Pomeranian is signed back into Pomeranian For Life's care.
